School programme “Meet the Saeima”

The school programme “Meet the Saeima” is one of the Parliament’s projects aimed towards the youth, taking place throughout the year since 2012.

The programme aims at sparking young people’s interest in the political processes in Latvia, educating them about the Saeima, its structure, the legislative process, the work of MPs, democracy, and civic involvement.

The target audience are secondary and upper basic education pupils.

Three different types of lectures are available:

• School programme lecture at the Saeima (a lecture and a tour, total duration: approximately two hours)
• School programme lecture outside the Saeima (takes place at schools anywhere in Latvia, duration of the lecture: approximately one hour)
• School programme lecture online (takes place on Zoom, duration: approximately one hour)
