
During its spring session from 28 April to 20 June 2025, the 14th Saeima adopted 57 laws in the final reading: nine new laws and 48 amendments to existing laws.
Over this period, MPs held 10 sittings, including one extraordinary sitting and one ceremonial sitting.
During the spring session, 44 draft laws were forwarded to relevant committees for review; 21 of these draft laws were submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers, 11 by MPs, 11 by Saeima committees, and one by the President of Latvia.
While working on the draft laws submitted and examining them in the second and third readings, the Saeima evaluated a total of 688 proposals.
In the spring session, the most active participants in the plenary debates were: Edvards Smiltēns, who took the floor 18 times, Aleksandrs Kiršteins (17 times), Jānis Dombrava (16 times), Artūrs Butāns, Andrejs Ceļapīters, and Linda Liepiņa (14 times each), Andris Kulbergs and Ingmārs Līdaka (13 times each), Skaidrīte Ābrama (11 times), Edgars Tavars and Juris Viļums (10 times each).
The Saeima closed its spring session on 20 June and will begin its autumn session on 1 September.
Between regular sessions, extraordinary sessions of the Saeima may be convened as necessary, and committee meetings may be held.
